Name: Margaret Hall-Coburn
Gender/Sex: Female
Age: 36
Height: 5'7
Physique: average build, thin with wide hips
Hair: Shoulder length, straight, somewhat wild, red
Eyes: blue
Clothing description: semi-casual; knee length skirts, bodice and jacket or just a button up blouse. she favors combinations of bright and neutral colors.
Occupation: Independent reporter
Home City: Mercury
Housing location: House in Mercury Suburbs
Backstory:
Margaret is the daughter of Gabriel Hall, aka The Minister. If she's not outright aware that her father is the infamous superhero, she heavily suspects it, although she's never confronted him about it.
Margaret went to Mercury City University studying for a degree in Journalism, backed by significant scholarships, as her father's Community center could hardly front the bill.
She picked up an internship with the Mercury City Herald during her tenure, and she was very successful at serving coffee and and filing papers. It wasn't until she started working for Jonathan Coburn that she actually started to get her foot in the door. Jonathan, 4 years her senior and already a low-level executive position in the company was at first hesitant to give her any noteworthy projects, but Margaret was a very persuasive girl - although it was obvious that the relationship she developed with Jonathan was not business only.
After the completion of her Bachelor's degree, Margaret joined the Herald full time, and soon afterward, consented to Jonathan's proposal for marriage. They would get married two years later, after Margaret completed her Post degree and gained a Masters in Journalism, Valedictorian of her class (as a part time student!). Although nothing direct enough to call a superpower, Margaret seemed to have a bit of the 'gene' that her father does, and her husband was often amazed how often she found herself in just the right place at the right time to hand over the latest investigative report.
Margaret's pregnancy with Luke, however, put a roadblock on her career, forcing her to take maternal leave. Maternal leave transitioned to resignation when Cameron was born 3 years later. Home life has not sat well with Margaret (and neither has the perceived loss of her younger, pre-nuptial figure).
More of an escape than any kind of plan or goal, she started up a news blog, trying to keep in touch with the outside world through her network of contacts, many of which were through Jonathan still working at the Herald. The hobby steadily grew in scope, and by 2020, 3 years after Cameron's birth, it had actually developed a notable online following. With accreditation as a credible news source, Margaret finally convinced Jonathan to leave the Herald and start working directly for The Final Word news - run from an innocuous den in the Mercury City Suburbs.
