Superhero alias: Anomaly
Gender/Sex: Male
Age: 26
Height: 6'2
Physique: Anomaly is best described as a scrawny geek. His body still hasn't arrived at what could be considered proper proportions his bony limbs are long in comparison to a normal person of his height. On the plus side he doesn't need glasses, which could be truly crippling in a fight.
Costume description: Having never learned how to sew or knit, and trying to not having a trail by outright buying his costume; Anomaly's costume is a simple affair. Black jeans and shirt with a dark jacket over that. His mask is simply a black bandanna kept in place, when needed, through the use of his powers.
Powers/Abilities: Every mass attracts every other mass to some degree, this is the cause of gravity. Usually this attraction requires huge masses to have any noticeable effect. Anomaly can control this attraction, multiply it, remove it. This is his only power, but it allows him to appear to have several others.Using this power he can fly, he can lift or appear to lift large objects with ease, and appear to be telekinetic.
Anomaly's power is governed by his mind, he became aware of his power because he started to be able to feel the forces of gravity at work. At first he could only sense the pull of the Earth on himself and things around him. He perception of these connections is of a wire or line attached between the two objects. The gravitational pull of earth resembles a normal rope anchored at the rough center of any object he perceives. He can focus his mind and cause the string to shrink or grow, he can not however cause a repellent force.
Over time he has been able to find the much much finer threads that allow him to make more dexterous use of his powers. While he was able to only see the Earth's pull he was unable to fly he could make himself or objects weightless or increase a object or person's weight until movement was nigh impossible but there was no pushing or pulling.
Now he is able with some concentration to perceive smaller ropes, threads really, and control them. When he flies he does so by finding a tall object nearby and tightening its rope, in a sense it is more swinging then flying and the amount of concentration required prevents him from doing much else while in the air, lest he crash into what he's roped. He has also learned how to shift the placement of the rope somewhat, allowing him to pull a particular part, say a hand, first.
As it stands he is able to control only a small number of ropes at a time and while doing can usually only manage to make the same sort of change on them. If he didn't waste as much time as he does and practiced routinely and tried to stretch his powers, his control would likely increase and he would be able to do more impressive feats, but such is not currently the case.
His powers are currently connected to his vision, while he can still feel the pulls when his eyes are closed his control is very unmanageable. The ropes are just a way his mind is able to understand his unique sense but now he needs them to be able to use his power. He has tried to sense the connection between the Earth and the Moon or the Sun but has failed, likely his perception is not great enough to perceive it even with his rope mechanism.
Home City: Mercury City
Citizen Alias: Leon Callus
Backstory: Leon Callus was born to a small family in the suburbs outside Mercury City. He managed a normal childhood amidst all the stranger goings on around this superpowered city. Almost reflexively he turned to comics as a defense mechanism against reality. This is rather odd given that the comics often depicted real happenings or heroes, but on the pages of comics, it seemed less real.
Over the course of his teens this turned into a major hobby. The kind where you spend most of your allowance and get a dead-end job to feed it and go to conventions whenever possible. This naturally lead to a lacking social life. This also lead to a slight lapse in his otherwise stellar grades. Despite this he still got into a decent college.
Being unable to bring his comics with him he turned to video games as his new hobby. These he found even more addictive and his grades floored as he started not going to class. This led to him getting put on probation and eventually getting kicked out.
This led to him moving back in with his parents and starting that dead end job again. It was during this time that his power manifested and realizing the potential he quickly changed jobs to one where he could make use of it.
It was later that he though to actually do some good with it. He might even start collecting comics again just in case Anomaly gets turned into one.
Other: Now with more personality- Leon has been something of a failure, according to his peers for most of his school years and more recently by his parents. He disagrees with this perception quite vocally, but in his heart he is afraid they are right. After all he's never had a girlfriend, never really had a large circle of friends, and doesn't even know why he has powers.
Fact of the matter is luck seems to be about the only thing getting him through life. Sure he's decently smart, but he doesn't have a degree. For all his claims to be an independent thinker he hasn't done much of anything. Even his turn to heroism is just a copying of other heroes and comic books.
This lack of originality and fear of being a failure may lead him down a path of recklessness or even madness. As he seeks to prove that he can be something, that he is actually important the risks he'll take and the lengths he will go to will only increase.
