Upon posting, the administration in charge of approving or denying for roleplaying samples will examine your sample and then PM you for notification, as well as post in the thread.
While length is not an issue for the most part, we prefer that your sample be long enough that we have a clear idea of how, and how well you write.
Generally, one paragraph is suitable.
As a side note, not only does proboards have a 'spell check' option for posts, several browsers themselves have spell check extensions, or the function built into the browser itself.

Can/should the sample be posted simultaneously along with the profile, or would you rather we wait until permission is gained from here before posting the profile?

I already answered this, but for future reference:
If you are confident enough in your writing abilities, you may post your profile simultaneously with the writing sample, but be forewarned that neither will be approved if either one has errors until those are fixed.
